the dangers of drinking soda

Drinking sugar sweetened beverages is an easy way to put one’s health at risk. Soda is one of the most commonly consumed sugar sweetened beverages and too much can lead to health complications. Not only do theses beverages contribute to weight gain and obesity in our society but they also put people at high risk of stroke, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Sugar sweetened beverages should only be consumed occasionally and in moderation.

  1. I never realized just how bad soda can be to one's health. I try to avoid drinking it as much as possible, but now that I know just how bad it is, I definetely will not be drinking soda anytime soon!

  2. I don't find it all that surprising that soda is so bad for us. Thankfully, we don't usually buy it often (or else I would drink it all the time). When I do have soda, it is usually at a special occasion, and even then I try to have diet when it is available. As a country, however, I think that everyone needs to make an effort to become more aware of what we are eating and drinking.

  3. I totally agree! I don't understand why people make such poor decision that will hurt them in the long run while they can make positive decision like water or tea or juice. Soda can be really bad for you, but what it contains is what will really damage your body. All types of soda is so acidic, but coke being the most acidic, detectives and police men use it to clean bloody crime scenes as a last resort!!!! EW!

  4. For the most part i am not one to drink many sugar sweetened beverages, but i did not realise the side affects these drinks had! There definitely is no benefits to drinking these drinks and is much healthier to drink water, tea or juice like Janelle said.
